Situated 3km from An Daignean, at half Moon Bay on the shores of Lough Gill is the Hazelwood Demense. Scenic forest walks, outdoor sculptures, picnic areas and breaktaking lakeside views.
Glencar Waterfall is 10km north of Sligo Town and is mentioned by WBGlencar Waterfall yeats in his famous poem “The Stolen Child”. The waterall has a drop of 50 feet and is an impressive sight. The beautiful lake of Glencar is closeby.
Drumcliffe – WB Yeat’s Grave
William Butler Yeats is buried in the grounds of Drumcliffe church. Only a 15 minute drive from Sligo Town it is a very famous landmark. The church lies at the foot of the impressive Benbulben Mountains which is a most scenic area with stunning landscapes.
